Announcing our 2026 African Diplomatic Engagement Program:
Leveraging Educational Partnerships for Commercial Diplomacy
Advancing U.S.–Africa Partnerships Through Conversation and Exchange
Early May in Washington, D.C.
This unique program convenes both new and experienced African Ambassadors to learn from one another and from sectoral experts about how to maximize their impact as international representatives in the United States. Launched in 2019, the African Diplomatic Engagement Program (ADEP) has been held in Washington, D.C., Houston, and in virtual formats. Through this program, diplomatic missions are encouraged to explore strategic engagement with the education sector as a pathway for advancing commercial diplomacy. In doing so, ADEP 2026 aims to support Africa’s commercial and development priorities that are critical to economic growth, stability, and improved livelihoods.
