AAI and University of Massachusetts-Amherst are working together to make publicly available never-before-seen pieces of African and African-American history preserved for decades in AAI’s archives.

Our 41st Annual Awards Gala took place on Sunday, September 21, 2025 and featured the inaugural Investor Impact Award, Elder Award, and Presidential Fireside with Namibia and Mozambique.

On October 6, 2025, AAI and the African Union Mission to the United States co-hosted the annual African Diplomatic Engagement Program (DIPLO), bringing together representatives from more than 35 embassies for discussions centered on issues shaping today’s global order.

Inspired by AAI’s art collection, our new research associate, Naa Atswei Laryea, explores the hidden stories of Global Africa held by the African art all around us.
