The Hansberry Society’s 4th Annual Birthday Commemoration Event - [Re]present: Museums & Access

This Saturday 2/21/26, the William Leo Hansberry Society presents: [Re]present: Museums & Access. To commemorate the 132nd birthday of William Leo Hansberry, co-founder of AAI, presenters will discuss the role and responsibility of museums in caring for objects, providing access, and preserving African heritage. Hansberry’s pioneering work challenged institutions to recognize Africa’s deep histories, intellectual traditions, and global contributions. This conversation asks how museums shape the stories that are told and the histories made visible.

The virtual event will be livestreamed over Zoom and Youtube @hansberrysociety.
